More about the project
The project aims to develop activities that promote exchange and knowledge transfer between various creative and academic disciplines. By facilitating spaces for collaboration between artists, researchers, and citizens, the project aims to generate social value and foster knowledge valorization.
The Rock Your Research project seeks to enhance dialogue on science between artists, researchers, and the public. This will be achieved through Rock It Cafés—venues for discussions—and Rock It Labs, which create spaces for co-creation and collaboration. The overarching goal is to develop methods for communicating science to a broader audience through the intersection of art and research.
Main Components of the Project:
• Rock It Cafés – science cafés that facilitate transdisciplinary dialogue between researchers, artists, and the public.
• Rock It Map – a tool for visualizing existing resources and collaborations between art and science.
• Rock It Labs – co-creative workshops where artists and researchers collaborate. Vetenskap & Allmänhet is responsible for the development and implementation of Rock It Cafés and Rock It Labs.
Rock It Cafés serve as platforms for interdisciplinary exchange and dialogue between researchers, artists, and the public. The aim is to bridge the gap between academia and society through interactive sessions and workshops that reflect societal needs and interests. In Rock It Labs, artists and researchers collaborate from a citizen-centered perspective to create activities and artistic expressions that benefit society. These labs provide a space for creative projects, where participants receive guidance and support throughout the creative process. Through these initiatives, Rock Your Research strives to enrich the interaction between art and science, make scientific knowledge more accessible, and contribute to the development of inclusive communities. The long-term objective of the project is to generate social value and foster knowledge valorisation by facilitating spaces for collaboration between artists, researchers, and citizens.
